The Electoral Commission has worked in collaboration with the Children’s Commissioner for Wales and the Senedd Commission to create new resources to help young people learn about their rights so they feel confident to participate in the 2026 Senedd election.

A lesson plan and slide deck series that explores in depth why voting is important. Supported by some short activities to start the conversation about the 2026 Senedd Election and how young people can get involved.
The lesson can be taught individually or as the first one of three, followed by The Senedd and How to Vote lessons, depending on the time available and which topics are most suitable for your learners.
