The Electoral Commission has worked in collaboration with the Children’s Commissioner for Wales and the Senedd Commission to create new resources to help young people learn about the Senedd so they feel confident to participate in the 2026 Senedd election.
This scheme of work supports young people to learn about the role and history of the Senedd and how it’s changing in 2026.
A lesson plan that explores The Senedd in depth. Supported by some short activities to start the conversation about the 2026 Senedd Election and how young people can get involved.
The lesson can be taught individually or as the second one of three, preceded by the Children's Rights and the Senedd Election lesson and followed by the How to Vote lesson, depending on the time available and which topics are most suitable for your learners.
