Department for Education Youth Sustainability Champion

Organisation:
Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK)
Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK)

Are you 18-23 and passionate about sustainability and education? The Department for Education are recruiting for the next cohort of Youth Sustainability Champions – three young people who will help shape education policy and provide a youth voice mechanism in heart of policy making.

This is an incredible two-year opportunity to get involved in national decision making alongside civil servants and government ministers, further and champion youth climate action, and meet young people across the country and beyond. You will be supported all the way by SOS-UK, the youth-led climate justice charity, and receive an annual stipend of £1000.

You do not need any experience, just a passion for sustainability, education and the power and potential of young people. Applicants must be aged 18-23 on 1st July 2025, and based in England. We are particularly interested in applications from young people who are currently or have been recently studying in a vocational or technical setting, but those from all backgrounds are welcome to apply.

Interested? Submit an online application by 17:00 on Wed 28th May 2025
