The Make a Difference Challenge is a child-led social action programme that primary school teachers can run from their classroom.
Our unique programme allows primary school teachers to take pupils through their very own local social action project. Over 900 schools and 26,000 children have already taken part, launching a range of community-focussed campaigns on climate change, homelessness, biodiversity and more. Get inspired by these success stories.
Whether for your SMSC provision, personal development or broader desire to develop confident, empathetic young citizens, our Make a Difference Challenge programme has been externally evaluated, demonstrating how transformational it can be for children who take part. It has been shown to develop:
- Skills including empathy, teamwork, oracy and mediating differences
- ‘Grit’, resilience and motivation to act when they see something going wrong
- Confidence for secondary school
- Awareness of voluntary groups and organisations in their local community
